Holiday Essentials......

Hi everyone, sorry it's been a while since I've posted but for the last two days I've been at the UEA university for this two day law summer school. It was actually so much better than I thought and really interesting, I feel now as though I might like to study law, but I still want to keep the door open at the moment, I also met some really lovely people so if you ever have the opportunity to go to an event/summer school you should definitely do it!

Now back to fashion, this is the time of year when us Brits pack up from the abysmal English weather and hit somewhere of guaranteed sun,sea and sand. So I put together a few holiday essentials:

The Black Bikini
I love this cut-out caged bikini from Topshop, unfortunately it's sold out but I had to show it as I think it's a gorgeous take on the essential black bikini.

The Swimsuit
Topshop

The Cover-Up

Adore this embellished cover-up from Topshop, which is perfect to walk around pool side and the beach and throw over the top of your swimwear.

The Maxi Dress
Paisley print cut-out maxi dress Miss Selfridge

The Sandal
These River Island tribal style sandals are amazing for abroad and when you're back on home turf- I love them.

The Wedge
A holiday needs that all important wedge, whether to go all sex and the city and casually wear them whilst lounging. Or for hitting the bars later.

Sunglasses

Cat Eye sunglasses have been huge this year, they're so chic and you really need a good pair of sunglasses (with U.V protection)  to chill in the sun and this pair from Asos should be one of them.

So this is a few pure essentials, but of course there is always more; not forgetting a hat (fedora for me), pre-holiday fake-tanning and most important the factor 30 (yep don't forget the sun cream!!) Obviously the holiday make-up too. A fab bronzer, lipstick and gloss as well as that summer scent has to go on the list.

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend

Carnival Spirit

I went to a village carnival on Saturday, as I had the weekend off work and it was actually really cute! There was so much yummy food and lots of little craft stools and music, but best of all my Topshop floral trousers had another little outing. However I did get bitten by some kind of nasty parasite and now my arm is like a balloon crossed with Popeye, you know that old cartoon that has big muscles because he eats spinach. That's my arm minus the spinach eating!

Top; Topshop
Trousers; Topshop

All I would say about these trousers and the other trousers in Topshoop of the same material, is perhaps to get a size smaller than usual, because like mine when you first try them on they fit perfect but then gradually loosen up and get a little baggy.

Hope everyone has a great week and if you have a spare moment and like my blog I would appreciate it so much if you would nominate my blog for the Cosmo Blog awards as 'Best New Fashion Blogger' as shown in the sidebar :)

Sweet Dreams

Top: Topshop
Shorts: H&M
Shirt: Vintage Levis
Shoes: Topshop
Necklace: H&M
Sunglasses: Rayban
Thought I'd make use of the rare sighting of the sun today in England, as it has actually felt like June weather today (finally!!) so now at very opportunity the summer clothes get to see daylight and so do my legs!
I purchased these pale pink shorts from H&M a while ago now when they release the fashion conscious collection, but have only worn them a few times as the weather has been rubbish.
Hope everyone's having a great week!

Hat: New Look
Bandeau: Topshop
Plazzo Pants: Topshop
Sandals: New Look

So I took this outfit a few weeks ago- the last of my exams to be precise when it was actually sunny! I'd really only remembered I'd taken it when I was looking for something on my computer and came across it, so thought I might as well post it.

Flatforms

Platforms -no sandals- no. Flatforms the new trend of summer footwear. Flatforms are like marmite, you either love them or loathe them and at first I must say I had my preconceptions and wasn't their biggest fan. However a few months on  and I have to say they have grown on me so much and I wouldn't go as far to say it's love but I do really like them now! The comparison of flatforms to me is like when you first hear a song that you know is going to be massive; you don't like it now but know it will grow on you over time and will end up being so catchy and lovin' it. I actually now think flatforms are very diverse, looking great with a pair of cigarette pants or some skinny jeans with a plain tee or blazer to summer dresses and shorts! Also perfect for shorties like me adding a casual few inches- which is always a bonus.

Here are some of my favourite flatforms from the high street:

From 1 starting top left- 9 bottom right.
1. Topshop
3.Topshop
4.Asos
7.Office- classic underground creeper
8.Aldo
9.Asos

What does everyone think of flatforms have you always been a lover since Feburary/March time, or have they grown on you too or do you still hate them?

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend!

Oh So Stylish Sisters

Yesterday saw the birthday of everyone's favourite twins and ultimate style icons; Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. They turned 26 and they certainly have a conquered more than most 26 year old's, from child stars (or even babies) on 'Full House' and 'So Little Time' to Hollywood actress and then dominating the world of fashion becoming award winning designers! Now that's something most 26 year old's would love to put on their CV.

From starting Full House at 6 months old to fashion pioneers

Another one of their hit tv shows Two Of A Kind.

Mary-Kate
In 2006 she's already setting the scene for the Gothic style that we know she loves.

2007 these girls are SO good at making casual still look fab!
More 2007 Blue silk shift dress at Showtime event in Beverly Hills
Taking deep V to the next level at the Weeds premiere
2008 Fitting in nicely with the Dubai fashion at the grand opening of Atlantis resort.
2009 Spotted with one of the must have Rocco bag (so jealous of that, I still want one so bad!!)

2010 Elle Style Awards

2011 Met Ball, love this vintage Givenchy gown.

2012 Winning award for Womanswear Designer of the year at the CFDA Fashion Awards, NYC

Ashley

2006 Academy Awards
In 2007 wearing The Row

2008 in Calvin  Klein, gorgeous trouser suit.

This is one of my favourite looks orange vintage gown with leaf embriodary
 at the 2009 CFDA Awards

                                                            Stunning Badgley Mischka gown

Imagine being invited to the Met Ball at 19-wow!

The twins are rarely captured apart on the red carpet, so here they are as one:

What could be said to have become their trademark style of oversized, layered and perhaps slightly 'sloppy' but it works so well and look amazing on them.

I loved their 2012 shoot and cover for Elle in April's issue this year.

Their style has definitely progressed throughout the years, however even at the age of 16 they were style icons and they've held that title ever since! The Queens of cool/casual and sophistication; with signature blonde beachy waves, but they also have a dark Gothic/rocky style which I love!

Stripes

Playsuit: Glamorous
Really quick outfit post today, I picked this playsuit by Glamorous in Arc on sale for £15 half price and at that price I had to grab it. I love the cut-out detailing on the side and the back , although you can't see it very well on the photos.
Tomorrow I will dedicate a post to the most stylish twins in the business, as today celebrates the 26th birthday of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen- so happy birthday girls!

The End Of An Era

So last night saw the season finale and last EVER Desperate Housewives here in the UK and I just had to blog about it, as it's one of my all time favourite programmes! Over the last eight years we have literally cried tears of joy and sadness for everyone on the lane and I'm one of those (some people might say 'saddos') who get really into programmes; especially when they've been on for so long that you actually feel that you know the characters. Therefore I thought I could use this to share my love for the series, but more importantly make it fashion related by reviewing some of the most stylish moments

My favourite character has got to be Gabrielle Solis (aka Eva Longoria): The glamorous one of the bunch.

Gabby season one

Gabby season 8, a lot has changed from 1-8
Eva at the Cannes festival 2012 in a mermaid style Marchesa gown, showing that Eva Longoria is just a stunning out of character.

Bree Van de Kamp (Marcia Cross): Lover of a twin-set and pearls

Season one; the ever so perfect Conservative housewife
Bree is also one of my favs and if it was possible to have two, it would definitely be her and Gabby.
Season 8

Lynette Scavo (Felicity Huffman): Not so glamorous, more likely to be seen in sweats or a business suit.
Season 1
Season 8

Susan Delfino (Teri Hatcher):She loves her jumpers and cosy cardigans

Season 1

Season 8
Drama was one thing this show certainly was not short of, from a tornado to a plane crash, murder, cancer and all the other dirty laundry these housewives kept- Sunday nights will not be the same again :(

Now on a more positive note, outfit post tomorrow! Have a great Tuesday
