Next Hype: Skate Shoes

These are the new must for the ultimate casual, yet super stylish shoe. The Celine skate shoe was huge amongst bloggers and fellow fashionistas in A/W and hurrah they are here to stay for Spring.
The great thing is that the high street dupes are just fab and from a mere £20 instead of £1000 they're too good to say no to.

The Celine skate shoe

High street:

Kurt Geiger : £130

Leopard print pony-skin slip on also from Kurt Geiger: £95
Kurt Geiger have a huge variety of these skate slip ons, which I think are a good match to the Celine ones, however if you're living on a student budget like me then they are still a bit on the pricy side. That's when you turn to everyone's high street hero: Topshop!
Tarten slip on from Topshop and only £20, Topshop have done good this time

Croc print also Topshop: £20
I think these are definitely my fav and the ones I'll be purchasing later this week

If you're still looking for something cheaper New Look have some plain black plimsoll material ones for £11.99, which is just too good to turn down
New Look: £11.99

Whatever the colour, fabric or texture I think these are a great staple for everyone's wardrobe and are particularly great at this time when the transition is being made from A/W to S/S and you don't really know what to put on. Plus the weather is really weird at this time too.

Hope everyone is having a great start to their week

Fat Friday: Oreo Brownies

Hello, oh my goodness I can't believe the last time I blogged was in September (bad blogger!). Since going to uni it has been crazy. I've literally had no time to sort out posts and have nothing/no-one to take outfit posts, perhaps I should befriend some arty people to help a girl out.
Anyway, I know it's a little late, but I hope everyone had a fab NYE and are having a great start to 2014. I'm not going to wang on about Christmas/New Year, as that was forever ago and there's probably some blogging superstition about Christmas posts being unlucky in what is basically February!

So, just going to get straight down to my first (and not last) post of 2014.

I whipped up a batch of delicious Oreo brownies, which are heavenly. They don't exactly fit with my new "healthy" eating/ mission Victoria Secret body regime, but it's the weekend and therefore it's compulsory to veg out (desserts included) and these brownies perfect start to the weekend.

Recipe: Oreo Brownies
Prep Time- 20mins
Baking Time- 25-35mins
Ingredients:

375g Unsalted Butter
375g Dark Chocolate
6 Medium/Large Eggs
1 Tablespoon Vanilla Essence
500g Caster Sugar
1 Teaspoon of Salt
1 Packet of Oreos (or more depending on how you like the Oreo to brownie ratio)

I should also mention that this recipe is courtesy the lady that is Nigella Lawson, and it's the best brownie recipe I've ever used. The brownies are always chunky and gooey, which I think constitutes the perfect brownie, they also make a healthy portion so there's plenty if you're feeling generous enough to share.

Method:

  • Pre-heat oven 180
  • Line brownie tin with foil
  • Melt butter and chocolate together in a large saucepan
  • In a bowl mix the eggs and sugar and add the vanilla essence
  • In another bowl measure the flour and add the salt
  • When the chocolate mixture has melted and cooled a little, beat in the eggs and sugar and then add the flour
  • Beat the mixture together and pour in the tray, ready for baking
  • Baking time is 25mins, but I find with this recipe and the amount of mixture that 25mins is never long enough, so I probably keep them in anywhere between 10-15mins longer. Again it depends how gooey you like them.

Tah-Dah Oreo brownie batch complete. Now you can enjoy devouring them with some B&J.

I think I'm going to start littering more food, especially baking posts in my blog this year, as I'm a massive foodie and who doesn't want to see pictures of delicious cakes and sweet treats.

Also I'm going to Copenhagen at the end of February for a cute weekend away with my friends, which I'm so excited about. So if anyone has been before I would love to know what places and things I must see and do!
Hope you like the first post of 2k14

Lusting After.....

The Kurt Geiger A/W boot collection........

There are just too many boots on Kurt Geiger that I need for my winter wardrobe, I'm obsessed with boots in general but especially black boots it makes them even harder to resist; especially as they average out around £150..... I better start saving.

These are my top four:

All of these boots are available on Kurt Geiger

Sorry about the really short post, but I am going to start blogging regularly again.

Where I Went: Warsaw

So, I went to Warsaw for my friends birthday way back in March and it was such a good weekend that we decided to go back again the other week. It is such a lovely city and perfect for a long girly weekend, where you can just shop, go out for cocktails, see a little bit of culture, go out to eat and more cocktails! And the even better news is that because it's so cheap you can do at least four days for under £100 and did I mention that it is hot in the summer too, so it makes for a perfect summer break.

I would definitely recommend a trip to Warsaw and if you go you have to take a visit to the Old Town, the architecture is gorgeous and it has a bit of an Italian vibe to it.

Summer Ball.....

Hi everyone, it has been forever since I last posted anything and my exams have been over for a while now and I still haven't got my butt into gear and been posting. However my friends and I have organising our Sixth Form Summer Ball, which took place on Tuesday and thankfully everything was perfect and it was just such a good night. I tried to go for a classic Hollywood look with a long black dress with a plunging neckline which then crossed-over at the back, teaming it with red lipstick and to control the frizz a blow-dry. My dress was from BHS, which for me would have been the last place to look, but this dress is very unique, it's a twist and wrap dress which means it can be worn 15 different ways, so when I wear it again I can change the style and it will look like a different dress- magic! You can find the dress here

ShoesShoesShoes...

Topshop's mid season sale launched earlier this week and well what girl doesn't love a sale, especially when it involves loads of amazing shoes!

These are some of my favourites and most of the prices have been halved too, which is an even better bonus, but be quick because most of them are already selling out. I usually don't have the problem of rushing in a shoe sale, because I have tiny size 3 feet which are always left, but in this case most of the 3's have gone :(. Perhaps I should take it as a sign to save my money, or be to quicker next time!

OOTD: Sheer

Shirt; H&M
Jeans: Topshop
Shoes:Topshop

Just a really simple outfit post today, I've had these grey paisley jeans a while but because they're cropped I never know if you can tell that they are actually cropped or if they just look like they're too short. Anyway even though they're jeans they're a really nice shiny jacquard fabric.
I haven't done anything interesting this week other than revision, which is such a bore!! But I am going away to Poland next weekend for a long girly weekend for my friends 18th, so that should be exciting. Has anyone been to Warsaw before?
