Fat Friday: Oreo Brownies

Hello, oh my goodness I can't believe the last time I blogged was in September (bad blogger!). Since going to uni it has been crazy. I've literally had no time to sort out posts and have nothing/no-one to take outfit posts, perhaps I should befriend some arty people to help a girl out.
Anyway, I know it's a little late, but I hope everyone had a fab NYE and are having a great start to 2014. I'm not going to wang on about Christmas/New Year, as that was forever ago and there's probably some blogging superstition about Christmas posts being unlucky in what is basically February!

So, just going to get straight down to my first (and not last) post of 2014.

I whipped up a batch of delicious Oreo brownies, which are heavenly. They don't exactly fit with my new "healthy" eating/ mission Victoria Secret body regime, but it's the weekend and therefore it's compulsory to veg out (desserts included) and these brownies perfect start to the weekend.

Recipe: Oreo Brownies
Prep Time- 20mins
Baking Time- 25-35mins
Ingredients:

375g Unsalted Butter
375g Dark Chocolate
6 Medium/Large Eggs
1 Tablespoon Vanilla Essence
500g Caster Sugar
1 Teaspoon of Salt
1 Packet of Oreos (or more depending on how you like the Oreo to brownie ratio)

I should also mention that this recipe is courtesy the lady that is Nigella Lawson, and it's the best brownie recipe I've ever used. The brownies are always chunky and gooey, which I think constitutes the perfect brownie, they also make a healthy portion so there's plenty if you're feeling generous enough to share.

Method:

  • Pre-heat oven 180
  • Line brownie tin with foil
  • Melt butter and chocolate together in a large saucepan
  • In a bowl mix the eggs and sugar and add the vanilla essence
  • In another bowl measure the flour and add the salt
  • When the chocolate mixture has melted and cooled a little, beat in the eggs and sugar and then add the flour
  • Beat the mixture together and pour in the tray, ready for baking
  • Baking time is 25mins, but I find with this recipe and the amount of mixture that 25mins is never long enough, so I probably keep them in anywhere between 10-15mins longer. Again it depends how gooey you like them.

Tah-Dah Oreo brownie batch complete. Now you can enjoy devouring them with some B&J.

I think I'm going to start littering more food, especially baking posts in my blog this year, as I'm a massive foodie and who doesn't want to see pictures of delicious cakes and sweet treats.

Also I'm going to Copenhagen at the end of February for a cute weekend away with my friends, which I'm so excited about. So if anyone has been before I would love to know what places and things I must see and do!
Hope you like the first post of 2k14
